seatoun new build interior design

Artfully combining tasteful details with the practicalities of comfortable family living

This unique Seatoun home enhances warm, informal living with bespoke details and a cohesive design vision.

Situated on Wellington's east coast, this home masterfully balances cultivated aesthetics with family-friendly design. Warm, welcoming, and meticulously crafted, the interior showcases a thoughtful material palette with consistent colours, design features, and bespoke joinery.

Timber detailing emerges as a unifying design element, appearing at different scales throughout the kitchen, lounge, bathrooms, entrance, and exterior. Soft seaside tones are enlivened by indigo, china blue, and subtle pink/red accents, with patterns woven through fabrics, joinery, and accessories. A light grey backdrop provides breathing room, balanced by carefully curated furnishings and personal touches.

Strategic storage solutions maximise space, featuring dual-purpose joinery with both open display areas and concealed compartments. This approach exemplifies the value of early interior design collaboration, where a clear vision is developed from the project's inception.

“Frances really put her heart into the work she did for us. She helped us create an interior that reflects us as a family. She was all about helping us work out what we liked rather than imposing her style on us. I think that’s her biggest strength actually.

Frances was thoughtful, responsive and professional. Her relentless focus on detail resulted in a beautifully designed kitchen, en-suite and bathroom. She also worked with our contractor to make sure this was well executed.

I particularly like having one or two special design elements repeated throughout the house.”
