Project Description
We saw our role on this project as creating interior design that is a tangible expression of the high quality of care that residents can expect from the staff at Woburn Masonic Care.
Many working on and visiting the project who are on the fresh side of 50yrs have said they would be happy to move in! This is a million miles from the old cabbage smelling nursing home that is many people’s point of reference for aged care. Whilst the design, services and facilities cater for those in the later stages of life, the comfort, quality and style have not been compromised.
Along with many social, dining, staff and specialist spaces, Woburn Masonic Care has 66 care suite rooms, all with kitchenettes and ensuite bathrooms. The spec is high with Premium Rooms having fully tiled ensuite bathrooms, and a seperate lounge.
Scope for us encompassed full interior design throughout the building with a focus on shared resident spaces, accommodation Care Suites, allocated specialist rooms, outdoor and staff areas. Design applications undertaken include:
- Flooring (carpet tiles, LVT’s, vinyl flooring, tiles)
- Wall Treatments (paint colours, vinyl wallpapers, acoustic panelling)
- Lighting (feature light fittings, custom drumshade)
- Joinery (design for all shared space special units, colour and material selections in all areas)
- Window Treatments (curtains, sheers, blinds)
- Furniture (complete fit-out)
- Artwork, Accessories and Decor
- Plants & Planters
